Visual Diary #2

Trying to order a small hot chocolate at Starbucks:

Serena’s hallucination of the Chess and Checkers Visitor Centre in central park:

Brain food I grabbed on the way to the SCBWI conference each morning:

More to come…

    Loving your visual diary Kath!

And your view on the Big Apple so far has been so great – makes me want to give it a 2nd chance…

    See ya soon.

Love to read all of your visual diary, Kath. Your personality comes out loud and clear so far!
I’ve got one of those red Moleskin diaries too , the smaller size that tucks in my handbag.
    see you soon

Thanks Sheryl – love the thought of my personality coming through. They always talk about the unique voice of a writer – I suppose us illustrators have a kind of visual ‘voice’ too :) And aren’t Moleskin’s great?

Totally gorgeous. I don’t think “small” is in the U.S vocab!

My fav is the Starbuck’s entry. SO adorable and says so much! I love all of your entries..very fun to see. Wonder what you would put on a page about Cheesecake Factory with the kitchen on fire and sandwiches the size of human heads!! LOL

What a gorgeous account of your time in NY. It’s interesting to see a diary from an illustrators perspective. I love the collage. I’m so used to seeing pages and pages of words in my own – far less enticing to the eye. Your Starbucks pic bought back my own London travel memories. But I have to know – was the Magnolia Bakery cupcake worth it?

Thanks Susan! Visual diaries certainly look more interesting visually, but I’ll bet your written diaries are full of hidden story treasures. And the cupcake was absolutely worth every delicious-hip-expanding moment :)
